There are no streets or pavements here. The only way of getting around is by pirogue. Houses are suspended above the water on stilts. It's impossible to keep your feet on the ground here, and there's a good reason for that. This town of 35,000 inhabitants is built on a lake. Ganvié is constructed entirely on water.
