Women & Money 1/2
Description
In industrialised countries, women are systematically victims of invisible mechanisms that lead to their impoverishment. As children, they receive less pocket money; as adults, they receive lower salaries; as mothers, they are disadvantaged in the workplace and perform unpaid domestic work, the value of which amounts to 23% and 33% of GDP in Germany and France, respectively. And in every stage of life, they lose a little more of their economic autonomy. The film lifts the veil on this system, which is firmly entrenched in our societies, and demonstrates that true equality is still a pipe dream despite advances such as paternity leave and even in model countries such as Iceland.
