Recently, the annexation of Crimea and the construction of the "Turkish Stream " gas pipeline have brought this maritime space to the forefront of media attention. Although their relations are complicated, the two major Black Sea powers, Turkey and Russia, are able to agree on one thing: they need to keep the West at a distance from this region and maintain their duopoly there.
