The Age of Discovery

The world of Europeans expanded when expeditions around the globe in the 15th century made it possible to reach other continents. This Age of Discovery began with Portuguese and, later, Spanish explorers, who opened up new trade routes to new lands and discovered new peoples whom they could exploit.
